Girls Football Theory Class – Basics of the Game & Understanding Fouls

At FC Marina Football Academy, we strongly believe that understanding football theory is as important as physical training. As part of our player development program, we conducted a Girls Football Theory Class, focusing on the basic rules of football and an introduction to fouls.

Importance of Football Theory for Girls

The theory session was designed to help young girls understand the game better, improve decision-making on the field, and play with confidence. Learning the rules helps players avoid unnecessary fouls, respect referees, and maintain fair play.

Basics of Football Covered in the Class

During the session, our coaches explained the basic structure of a football match, including:

  • Number of players and positions

  • Match duration and half-time rules

  • Kick-off, throw-in, corner kick, and goal kick

  • Understanding the role of the referee and assistant referees

The session encouraged interaction, allowing players to ask questions and clarify doubts.

Teaching Fouls – Play Fair, Play Smart

A major part of the theory class focused on understanding fouls in football. Players were taught about common fouls such as:

  • Tripping and pushing

  • Handball

  • Dangerous play

  • Charging and holding

  • Offside (basic understanding)

Coaches explained how fouls are judged and the importance of playing safely and responsibly.

Discipline, Respect & Sportsmanship

The class also highlighted the values of discipline, respect for opponents, and sportsmanship. Players learned the importance of following rules, respecting match officials, and maintaining a positive attitude during matches.

Building Confidence Through Knowledge

This theory session helped our girls gain confidence, improve game awareness, and prepare better for practical training and matches. At FC Marina Football Academy, we are committed to empowering girls through structured football education, both on and off the field.
