FC Marina U12 – Runners-Up at DBFC 11’s Tournament

Our Under-12 boys proudly participated in their first-ever 11-a-side tournament at Don Bosco Football Club(DBFC) — and what a journey it turned out to be!

Group Stage Brilliance

We kicked off the tournament with a thrilling encounter against Valiant FC. In a closely contested match, our boys showed great composure and determination to secure a narrow 2–1 victory. It was the perfect start and a big confidence booster for the team.

In the second match, we faced Don Bosco Egmore B. Displaying excellent teamwork and discipline, we claimed another important win, successfully qualifying from the group stage through the round-robin format.Our third match against Spartans was another intense battle. Once again, the boys rose to the occasion and sealed a 2–1 victory, proving their consistency and fighting spirit.

The Grand Finale

The final was set against Don Bosco Egmore A — a strong and well-organized side.

In the first half, our team dominated possession and created several clear scoring opportunities. Unfortunately, we couldn’t convert our chances into goals, and both teams went into halftime locked at 0–0.

The second half tested our resilience. After conceding the first goal, we momentarily lost momentum. Despite putting up a brave fight and refusing to give up, the opposition capitalized on their chances, and the match ended 3–0 in their favor.

More Than a Trophy

Though we finished as Runners-Up, this tournament was about much more than silver medals. It was about courage, teamwork, and heart.Our boys may have secured second place on paper — but in terms of commitment, character, and fighting spirit, they truly earned first place.

This tournament marks the beginning of a promising journey for our U12 squad. The experience gained, lessons learned, and memories created will only make them stronger for the competitions ahead.

We are incredibly proud of every player who wore the badge and gave their all on the field.
